Through a network of 64 offices and 20 training centres, FÁS operates training and employment programmes; provides a recruitment service for job-seekers and employers, an advisory service for industry and supports community based enterprises. FÁS encourages employers and employees to improve their work skills with its One Step Up initiative. With on-line training through eCollege and a range of business start-up advisory training programmes, FÁS also offers traineeships tailored to Irish industry and local business needs and apprenticeships. FÁS also assists employers through funding to provide training and employment programmes to support all employees.
